Research interest:
Stellar initial mass function variation and its implication; The IGIMF theory; Galaxy chemical evolution.
The aim of my current work is to:
i) promote the idea that the stellar IMF is not guaranteed to be invariant since all the studies of IMF are based on the observation of the local Universe where the variation of the star formation environment is relatively low.
ii) Show that the risk of not considering a possibly different IMF is high. The variation on IMF has a non-linear impact on our model of the Universe as the effect integrates over time.
iii) Further develop the IGIMF theory, by examining the observational constraints and exploring the boundary of the IMF variation.
iv) Work on specific applications of the IGIMF theory and compare it with canonical invariant IMF assumption.
